GUIDE 01
Treat the displayed scoring table as the rulebook
Scoring can vary by contest and format. Before selecting anyone, read the current RS9 table for batting, bowling, fielding, milestone, economy or strike-rate adjustments and multiplier treatment.
Note any deductions or thresholds
Check captain and vice-captain multipliers
Confirm the table belongs to the fixture and contest you plan to enter
GUIDE 02
Map batting roles to opportunity
Opening and top-order batters may have more deliveries available, while middle- and lower-order roles can depend on the match situation. Compare expected position with recent role information rather than assuming every listed batter has the same path.
A batter who also keeps wicket or bowls can have additional scoring routes, but only count the role expected for this match.
GUIDE 03
Map bowling roles to phases
Read economy or boundary-related scoring before deciding how much phase risk to accept. A bowler's label alone does not confirm when or how much they will bowl.
New-ball overs can create early wicket opportunity
Middle-over roles may combine control and wickets
Death-over roles can create wickets but may carry economy risk
A named bowler is useful only if meaningful overs are expected
GUIDE 04
Value keeping, fielding and all-round involvement
Wicketkeepers can add catches, stumpings or run-outs to batting opportunity when the scoring table awards them. All-rounders can reach points through more than one discipline, but role certainty matters: a player listed as an all-rounder may not receive equal batting and bowling involvement in every match.
GUIDE 05
Compare two players with the same role label
The platform role label is only the starting point. Two batters can appear at different positions; two bowlers can operate in different phases; two all-rounders can have very different expected involvement. Compare the actual job expected in this fixture.
Use recent role information as context, then wait for the confirmed XI. If a candidate's expected position or overs remain unclear, keep a more stable alternative ready instead of converting uncertainty into certainty.
Same label does not mean same opportunity
Phase and position matter
Recent use is context, not a guarantee
Confirmed selection comes before a final multiplier
GUIDE 06
Create a role card for every candidate
Primary role
Write the most likely batting position or bowling phase.
Secondary route
Add keeping, fielding or all-round involvement supported by the expected role.
Scoring fit
Match those opportunities to the current scoring table.
Confirmation status
Mark whether the player is predicted or confirmed in the final XI.

Are fantasy cricket scoring rules always the same?+
Do not assume they are. Read the current contest's displayed scoring table and thresholds before building a team.
Which player role is best for fantasy cricket?+
There is no universal best role. Compare likely opportunity across batting, bowling, keeping and all-round involvement against the current scoring system.
Why does batting position matter?+
Batting position affects how many deliveries and match situations a player may face, which changes the available scoring opportunities.
