GUIDE 01
Confirm the multiplier rules first
Read the captain and vice-captain multiplier values displayed for the current contest. The multiplier increases both the benefit of a strong score and the effect of a low-opportunity choice, so the decision belongs at the end of team building.
Do not assume another contest uses the same multiplier or scoring treatment.
GUIDE 02
Score candidates on opportunity
Expected overs and bowling phase
Keeping or fielding involvement
Access to more than one scoring discipline
Role stability after the confirmed XI
Fit with current pitch and match conditions
GUIDE 03
Use a simple C and VC shortlist
Shortlist confirmed starters
Remove anyone absent from the final XI or carrying an unclear role.
Compare scoring routes
Prefer candidates who can reach the displayed scoring actions through meaningful expected involvement.
Check stability
Separate a repeatable role from a selection that needs one narrow match event.
Assign the two multipliers
Choose captain and vice-captain from the shortlist, then save and re-open the team.
GUIDE 04
Compare floor, ceiling and dependence
A stable expected role can provide several ordinary scoring opportunities; a narrow role may need one specific event. Compare both the range of opportunity and how many assumptions must be correct for the candidate to deliver.
Captain and vice-captain do not have to represent the same match script. When the rules and team structure allow, two candidates with different reliable scoring routes can reduce dependence on one phase. This is still a reasoned choice, not a guarantee of any outcome.
Write one sentence for each candidate explaining the expected role and scoring route. If the sentence depends mainly on reputation, popularity or an unconfirmed position, return that player to the shortlist instead of assigning a multiplier.
How often can the role reach a scoring action?
How many phases are involved?
Does the choice depend on one uncertain prediction?
Does the second multiplier add a different reliable route?
GUIDE 05
Avoid popularity-only decisions
Selection percentage and reputation show what other players may think; they do not confirm batting position, overs or current form of involvement. Use popularity as context only after the role analysis is complete.
A contrarian choice is not automatically better either. The aim is a reasoned multiplier decision, not difference for its own sake.
GUIDE 06
Recheck after every late swap
Both multiplier players are confirmed
Their roles did not change
The team remains valid
The chosen contest still uses the scoring table reviewed
The final save completed before lock

QUICK ANSWERS
Questions, answered.
Tap a question for a concise answer without leaving the page.
When should I choose captain and vice-captain?+
Choose them after the team is valid and the Playing XI is confirmed, then review again after any late swap.
Should the most popular player always be captain?+
No. Compare confirmed role, expected opportunity and the current scoring system; popularity is context, not proof.
Why choose an all-rounder as captain?+
An all-rounder can offer more than one scoring route when both roles are genuinely expected, but the label alone does not guarantee involvement.
